Attractions Academy to provide training to industry professionals
POSTED 04 Oct 2018 . BY Luke Cloherty
McKeogh has provided training solutions for the Exploratorium San Francisco, Warner Bros Movie World Australia and Gardens by the Bay Singapore
Australia-based attractions industry trainer Sean McKeogh has started a new firm that aims to train industry professionals around the world.

Called Attractions Academy, the new venture will deliver training planning, development and delivery services to companies around the world looking to enhance staff training.

McKeogh has worked in almost every sector of the attractions industry and is currently chair of the IAAPA Asia Pacific Education Sub Committee, as well as being a member of the IAAPA Global Education Committee and IAAPA Asia Pacific Advisory Committee. In various roles over more than two decades, he's also provided training solutions for the Exploratorium San Francisco, Warner Bros Movie World Australia, Gardens by the Bay Singapore, Sea World Australia, Omaha Children’s Museum, Wet ‘n’ Wild Sydney and Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.

The new academy will see McKeogh further expand his client base, helping to deliver programmes such as induction, ‘train-the-trainer’ and leadership.

"The quality of the guest experience delivered is critically impacted by the selection, skills and engagement of the team members working within the attraction," said McKeogh, who highlighted Asia as a particular market where more training focus could be established.

"Almost every new attraction project in Asia claims that they will offer an international standard, world-class attraction experience," he added.

"Yet only a very small number of these attractions invest in planning for recruiting, training and keeping team members motivated at the quality level required to sustain world-class standards."

The new academy is a member of both IAAPA and the World Waterpark Association (WWA).
