Archery GB chief to step down
POSTED 02 Sep 2009 . BY Pete Hayman
Peter Suk, the head coach of Archery GB, has announced that he will step down from the position after the World Cup Grand Final in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 26 September.

Since joining the organisation in May 2005, after working for 14 years in Italy, Suk has led the launch of the Archery GB Performance Unit and has helped to ensure that British archers have featured at every World Cup Grand Final since 2006.

Suk said: "There is three years to go until the Olympic Games, and I hope I have laid the foundations for my successor to come in and help British archers win medals at the London Games.

"There are some very talented archers in this country who are already established among the best in the world, and we have some very good youngsters coming through, so it is an exciting time to take over."

Sara Symington, Archery GB performance director, added: "Peter's legacy to British archery is immense - he revolutionised the coaching and preparation of our archers, from diet to fitness to technique.

"He will be a hard act to follow, but this is a really exciting time for British archery, and we will make sure we find the right person to build on the foundations that Peter has put down, and make sure we are among the likely medal winners at Lord's during the London Olympics."
