The cost of a one-day ticket to Disneyland and California Adventure theme park has gone up, despite falling attendance at the parks.
The Walt Disney Company has increased admission prices at its two theme parks in California by $2, bringing the entrance price to $47 per day. This, despite the fact that attendance at Disney parks has fallen by more than a million since 1998, according to industry estimates.
Disney officials say the increase in price reflects increased operating and investment expenses.
'We think the one-day admission price to our parks is well in line with the entertainment experiences our guests receive' Tom Brocato, spokesman for the Disneyland Resort is quoted as saying in the San Francisco Chronicle.
