The EU’s Objective One programme is to award more than £70,000 to help finance NVQ training courses in tourism management at Trinity College in Carmarthen west Wales.
Eight modules at level five will be made available to people within the tourism or related sectors, which will have the potential to lead to MBA qualifications as well as postgraduate certificates and diplomas.
Clive Scourfield, the executive board member for leisure and regeneration at Carmarthenshire County Council said: “Carmarthenshire already has a thriving tourism sector with so many beauty spots and attractions to be proud of, but this funding will better equip workers in the sector to maximise the potential we have.
“It will also mean that we will be able to employ people from within Carmarthenshire on a more regular basis. I welcome the funding and the course and would urge people to get in touch.” Details: www.trinity-cm.ac.uk
