The City of Edinburgh Council has announced proposals to transform the Edinburgh Ross Bandstand in Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh, within the next five years.
The council hopes to secure a £14m bid for National Lottery funding in order to realise the project.
The new auditorium would host events such as concerts, sports events, outdoor cinema screenings and ice-skating. The seating and standing area would increase from 3,500 to 10,000 capacity.
