Phantasialand in Brühl, Germany, is to unveil a new Suspended Top Spin ride, supplied by HUSS Park Attractions, for the 2007 season.
The Aztec-themed ride, called Talocan, is being constructed in the theme park’s Mexican area and includes fire and water special effects.
The Suspended Top Spin carries up to 38 people in two rows, back to back, in a single gondola, with their legs dangling beneath them. The ride is capable of carrying out four 360-degree pitch rolls and provides vertical, circular and swinging movements, along with very high gravity-induced accelerations of up to 4g.
Phantasialand spokesperson Christiane Dahm said: “We only had a very limited space for a new attraction in the Mexico area, so we could not add another roller coaster. Plus, we opened the inverted coaster Black Mamba last year, so we were looking for another kind of fast attraction.
“There is no other Suspended Top Spin in Europe, so we will get an absolutely unique attraction and there were good opportunities to work with special effects and theming to create an unforgettable ride that enthralls the spectators as well as the riders.” Details: www.hussrides.com
