ProSlide Technology, the Canadian waterslide manufacturer, is to build a waterpark showcasing the company’s products in its hometown of Ottawa, Ontario.
The new park, named Alottawata, will feature a wave pool, a lazy river and numerous water rides and slides including ProSlide’s Tornado, Pipelines and Bowls rides.
Rick Hunter, president and owner of ProSlide, said: “Our plan for Alottawata is to be a world-leading waterpark, which will include attractions to entertain all members of the family.
“Ottawa is great place to live, work and raise your family and we need more world-class, permanent amusement entertainment for our young and growing population.”
The company plans to spend CAN$30m (US$29m, £14.4m, 20m euro) over time on the waterpark, which will be expanded over four phases in consecutive years.
Work on the first phase is expected to begin next year and the park is scheduled to open in June 2009.
