Fitness equipment and software supplier eGym has promoted Kerstin Obenauer to head up its UK operation.

Obenauer was announced as country director, replacing Jochen Michaelis, who left the business earlier this year.

eGym produces electric resistance machine circuits, backed by regular software updates, and has a presence in 13 European countries and the US.

“The foundations have been laid for significant growth here in the UK and I'm looking forward to working with the team to maximise this potential,” said Obenauer, who has more than 20 years’ experience in the fitness industry.

Reporting to European director Eric Wenig, Obenauer will be responsible for introducing the firm's connected solutions to gym operators.

Since Michaelis’s departure in June, the UK operation has been heavily supported by Wenig.
