Pulse has been named the exclusive supplier of leased fitness equipment to Britain’s Royal Air Force for the next four and a half years.

The contract will see Pulse lease physical training equipment to RAF military bases in the UK, Cyprus, Falkland Islands and Ascension Islands to help keep troops and civilian personnel in peak physical condition.

Since the contract was awarded last month, kit orders have been placed by RAF Valley, RAF Coningsby, RAF Waddington, RNAS Culdrose, RAF Shawbury and RAF High Wycombe. Equipment chosen includes Pulse’s Fusion cardiovascular machines, Evolve strength kit, free weights and plate loaded machines.

British-based equipment manufacturer Pulse has been providing the Ministry of Defence (MoD) with fitness equipment since April 2013, when it won a three year contract to be an official supplier to the Armed Forces. It has subsequently supplied over £2m worth of fitness equipment and worked closely with the MoD to modify several pieces of equipment to make them more suitable for the fitness needs of the armed forces.

“Feedback from bases where equipment has been installed has been brilliant, with many commenting that the kit is excellent value for money, attractive, robust and well-designed,” said Pulse key account manager for government services Ben Steadman.

“We’re expecting to lease approximately £1m worth of equipment in the first six months of the new contract and hope to continue working with the MoD for many years to come, expanding into even more bases.”
