The Punta della Dogana, a new gallery that displays French businessman Francois Pinault's art collection, has opened in Venice.
Located at the former customs house in Venice, a 17th century building that was renovated by Japanese architect Tadao Ando for the project, the gallery features works by contemporary artists such as Jeff Koons, Sigmar Polke and Cy Twombly.
Pinault's holding company Artemis S.A. owns Christie's auction house, Gucci, Converse shoes and Samsonite luggage among other brands.
The inaugural exhibition is named Mapping the Studio: Artists from the Francois Pinault Collection.
