Spain-based visitor attraction operator Aspro has taken over the Delta Park Neeltje Jans in the Netherlands for an undisclosed sum.
Aspro acquired the park, which includes an outdoor seal pool, a water park and an aquarium, from its joint owners Dutch bus company Connexxion and the Delta Expo foundation.
Carlos Marina, managing director of Aspro, said: "This deal will establish our group in the Netherlands, a new country for us, but one we know is friendly to businesses and with a vibrant and mature leisure market."
Aspro currently operates 38 indoor and outdoor water parks, zoological collections, amusement parks and aquaria across Europe.
Aspro has been very active in acquiring new sites during 2008. In April, it took over UK-based aquarium operator Blue Reef Leisure, doubling the size of the group's operations in the UK.
A month earlier, it acquired the Oakwood theme park in Pembrokeshire, Wales.
