Swarovski Crystal Worlds in the Tyrolean town of Wattens has added sparkle this year thanks to a lavish expansion project.
The attraction has re-opened with a total of 4,000sq ft of exhibition space, featuring ‘wonder chambers’ that showcase the brilliance of Swarovski’s crystals.
Crystal Worlds’ artistic director, André Heller invited international artists to submit their interpretations of crystal's properties and attractions as part of the redesign process.
In addition, the attraction has space available for temporary exhibitions and a retail area designed by Terence Conran.
Swarovski Crystal Worlds first opened in 1995, to mark the group’s centenary. The focus then, as now, is on the future. “Just as crystal is a symbol of renewal and transformation, Swarovski too understands that its world of discovery should be continuously changing,” said Heller.
Swarovski Group has invested 15m euros in the new project. Details: http://kristallwelten.swarovski.com
