The Science Museum in London, UK, is to open its new travelling exhibition in April, called The Science of Survival – Your Planet Needs You.
Developed and produced in partnership with a number of commercial partners, including
chemical company BASF, global bank HSBC and Nissan Motor Company, the exhibition explores how everyday lives could be affected by the changing climate and resources and what lifestyles might be like in 2050.
The exhibition will focus on the availability of global resources and climate change and investigate options for a sustainable future.
By providing glimpses of the world of 2050, The Science of Survival attempts to bring to life advances in science and technology that may enable a more sustainable way of life in the future.
The attraction will include a number of futuristic objects, interactive games and a range of design activities for all ages.
The exhibition will open on 5 April and runs until 2 November 2008, before embarking on a global tour over the next five years, visiting 20 venues. It is expected that around 4 million people will see the exhibition during its travels.
