Is the leisure industry in good health?
POSTED 04 Aug 2015 . BY Jak Phillips
The results of the survey will be unveiled in the weeks leading up to LIW 2015
Industry insight specialist Leisure-net Solutions has joined forces with Leisure Industry Week (LIW) to take the pulse of the sector in a new Industry Confidence Survey.

The 2015 survey, which has been sent out to all operators on the LIW database in the lead up to this year’s revamped show on 22-23 September, is the first survey of its kind in three years. The questionnaire is designed to gauge how confident operators are about the overall future of the health and fitness industry, their own business and its different income streams, as well as what they see as the major challenges facing the sector in the next 12 months.

“All senior managers within the sector have been asked to complete the survey, giving their views on how the industry is shaping up to the current challenges it faces,” said Mike Hill, managing director of Leisure-net Solutions.

“We will find out what level of investment they have planned for the year as well as their intentions for new employment opportunities.”

The 20-question survey includes an education strand from industry education provider Lifetime Training, to discover what operators are looking for in school leavers applying for jobs and what qualities they feel young people bring to the workplace. The company also wants to find out how operators are getting behind the government’s pledge to create three million new apprenticeships.

The survey will be broken down into public and private sector, as well as size of organisation, and the results will be unveiled in the weeks leading up to LIW.
