Menzies Hotels has bought eight properties from Curzon Hotels for £54m.

Curzon, which owns Thistle Hotels, sold the units – in Birmingham; Luton; Swindon; Stevenage; Irvine; Manchester and Gatwick and Aberdeen airports – following a recent strategic review.

Tim Penter, chief executive at Derbyshire-based Menzies, said: “The acquisition of these eight hotels provided us with the ideal opportunity to continue to grow and develop our portfolio of properties. All the hotels are in prime locations improving our geographical spread across the UK.”
