Public feedback sought on Bath Fashion Museum, UK
POSTED 07 Jan 2013 . BY Jessica Tasman-Jones
The Bath Fashion Museum, UK, is seeking public feedback on what it should offer visitors over the next 10 years.

The collection, based in Bath’s Assembly Rooms, charts the history of menswear, womenswear and accessories, over the past 400 years, with the oldest items embroidered shirts and gloves from around 1600.

Public consultation on the attraction, owned and run by the Bath and North East Somerset Council, began in December and will run until 17 February.

It seeks to find out what exhibitions visitors want to see on display, what services the museum should offer and which organisations the museum should seek partnership with.

In particular it asks what services can be provided for locals, visitors, schools, community groups, fashion students and special interest groups.

The museum was started in 1963 with a donation from costume designer Doris Langley Moore and for its 50th anniversary this year will host 50 Fabulous Frocks.

The exhibition will open 2 February, running the whole year, and will showcase the museum’s most glamourous dresses, including couture by Christian Dior, Chanel and Vivienne Westwood.
