£20m entertainment venue to open in Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council is set to develop a £20m venue called the New Entertainment Centre.

The 70,000sq ft (6,500sq m) project will comprise a 650-seat concert auditorium, a studio to host further performances and live music as well as two café bars.

Architect Austin Smith Lord designed the venue, which has been approved by the borough council – the owner and operator of the new venture.

Willmott Dixon Construction will start work on site in October. Details: www.willmottdixon.co.uk
