A free exhibition in Trafalgar Square which tells visitors all about the London 2012 Olympic bid has been opened by Sir Steve Redgrave and Mayor Ken Livingstone.
Funded by Ballymore Properties, the London 2012 Bid Experience is dominated by a 10m tall statue of an Olympic athlete.
Inside the exhibition itself, visitors can take a virtual journey along the River Thames to see the plans for the Games before being greeted by a life-sized hologram of Redgrave’s former team-mate, Sir Matthew Pinsent.
The walk-through experience takes five minutes to view and can accommodate 55 people at a time. It was conceived by PR agency Fleishman-Hillard on behalf of Ballymore and created by production company VIBE, working with RPMC.
The London 2012 Bid Experience will remain in Trafalgar Square until 4 March, when it will move to Canary Wharf for a further two weeks.
