REPs’ members have long been aware that in order to re-register on an annual basis they have to meet continuing professional development requirements as a tangible way to prove they have continued to learn and develop their career and to keep their skills and knowledge up to date.
CPD credit points can be earned in a variety of ways, most commonly through endorsed courses, seminars, and conferences and members need to keep a log of their points and CPD progress for later audit by the REPs Compliance Officer.
To help make this process easier the Register is introducing new software to help training providers and members to improve communication and record keeping. The new software will start to become operational from October and will:
• Enable members to conduct key-word searches of all approved and endorsed training - and employers will also be given access to this search facility
• Allow members to search by subject, price, location, and time
• Carry-out evaluation of the training they have received
• Categorise training into qualification or units (to show clearly whether the training will give a change status of registration) or whether it is endorsed training only
• Make direct bookings with training providers
• Access an automatically updated calendar of programmes, courses and events complete with course descriptions, learning outcomes, locations and pricing details
• Keep an on-line CV which is linked to their full registration status.
