Beijing Planetarium has completed a revamp of one of its main galleries.
Said to be one of the world's oldest planetariums – the original Beijing Ancient Observatory was first built in 1442 in the Ming Dynasty – the attraction has installed new dome theater supplied by US-based Sky-Skan.
The dome screen is 23 meters in diameter (75 feet) and has a capacity of 600 people in a concentric arrangement.
The new theatre features Sky-Scan's Definiti 8K projection system, which handles 24 high definition streams, capable of producing a final image resolution of 35 megapixels.
The planetarium reopened last month following a extensive revamp of its facilities.
