A 53,000 sq ft (4,900sq m) indoor waterpark called H20ooohh will open at Split Rock Resort in the Pocono Mountains, Pennsylvania, US in Autumn 2008.
The $19m (£10m, 13m euro) rainforest-themed waterpark is being built as part of the existing facilities at the 605 room resort and will be open to the public as well as resort guests.
H20ooohh will include a multi level water playground with dipping bucket and activity pool for young guests plus body slides, family raft ride and swift moving, Flowrider water wave for boogie boarding and board surfing for the more adventurous visitors.
Chuck Dickinson, director of special projects at Split Rock Resort says, “The H20ooohh debut bolsters the popular trend of indoor waterpark vacations.
“We built this facility to enhance the experience for both our existing guests and to attract new clientele in search of the ‘all-in-one’ destination.”
The waterpark will complement the recreational facilities already on offer at Split Rock, including 27-hole championship golf course, mini golf, tennis, fitness centre, eight-lane bowling alley, movie theatre and restaurants.
