The former Imax cinema and Wildwalk attraction at the @Bristol Science Centre in the UK will be turned into an aquarium, according to local media.
The Bristol Evening Post reported that the cinema space will be turned into a large aquarium while the adjacent Wildwalk site will house a visitor centre serving the attraction.
A spokesperson for @Bristol confirmed that talks over the future of the two sites, which closed to the public in April 2007 due to poor attendance, were currently ongoing, but that no further information would be made available.
The £97m @Bristol science centre opened in July 2000 as part of a £450m urban rejuvenation scheme.
A registered charity, the centre is operated on a not for profit basis.
