Wet’n’Wild waterpark on Australia’s Gold Coast has unveiled its newest ride, the Surfrider, which it claims is the first ride of its kind in the world and Australia’s first wet rollercoaster.
The 67m-long coaster sees riders plummet 30m through wild water sprays while spinning on a giant surfboard. The ride seats 12 people at a time and lasts around 60 seconds.
Warner Village Theme Parks chief operating officer Steve Peet said: “We’ve made an ongoing commitment to be the home of Australia’s biggest selection of water rides and the best line up of summer events.”
"Last year was our best ever summer for Wet’n’Wild, and this summer is going to be even bigger!”
