Walibi Aquitaine park in south west France has installed a Splash Battle family water ride, designed by 3DBA of Belgium.
The ride, which has been located in a newly created area of the park, next to the sea ion theatre, offers guests a ride around a lake on a track in yellow-submarine themed vehicles.
While they ride round, guests can shoot water cannon at other riders, at targets and also at spectators – who can fire back using water cannon located around the attraction.
The 120m long attraction features seven four-seater vehicles each with one water cannon.
“Splash Battle has been very well received by our visitors,” said Corinne Sedeau, managing director of Walibi Aquitaine. “We are getting much larger attendances than we anticipated this year and we know that a lot of families are coming just because of the new ride.”
“We chose to install it because it is very well adapted to our site, particularly during the summer when it gets very hot in this area of France. It is well suited to our family audience and is highly interactive and fun to play, so the whole concept appealed to us. We have the same attraction at Walibi World in Belgium.”
Walibi Aquitaine was recently taken over by French ski resort operator Campagnie des Alpes as part of its purchase of five parks from Belgium-based Star Parks.
