The Ontario Science Centre in Canada is set to open a CAN$47m (£22.7m, US$39.7m, 30.8m euro) family innovation centre on 27 July this year.
The 25,000sq ft (2,300sq m) Weston Family Innovation Centre extension was designed by Diamond and Schmitt Architects to inspire visitors to create and innovate.
Attractions will include a large screen showing images, videos and animation covering scientific topics such as natural disasters, mad cow disease and space exploration.
Guest scientists will give daily live presentations on current science and technology issues at the Science Hot Spot.
A giant kinetic sculpture will ask visitors questions on provocative issues at Question of the Day.
Lesley Lewis, CEO of Ontario Science Centre, said: “True innovation flows from a free-thinking, rule-flouting and convention-busting mindset. That’s exactly what the Weston Family Innovation will promote by giving visitors the tools and opportunity to evolve, gain confidence, test new ideas and become creative problem-solvers.
