A 15 acre (6 hectare) family waterpark is to open in Temecula, California, US.
Owner Temecula Waterpark LP anticipates that the amusement park will cost around US$13m (£7m, 10m euro) to build.
The park will comprise a one million gallon wavepool, a quarter mile lazy river, an interactive children’s area, a water thrill ride called Boomerango designed by Whitewater and an attraction slide complex featuring a three-person inline boat ride and body slides.
Further facilities will include a Superbowl and a six-lane mat racer.
Construction on site will take place between autumn 2006 and March 2007. The waterpark is scheduled to open in May 2007.
A study carried out by real estate and economic development consultants, The Natelson Dale Group, predicted first year annual revenue of up to US$1.2m (£645,000, 940,000 euro).
The park will be developed by Berney Properties and Clearwater Waterpark Development, which has more than 50 years’ experience in developing and operating family waterparks. Details: www.mywaterpark.com
