Gulliver’s Eco Park to mix learning with fun
POSTED 13 Apr 2005 . BY
Gulliver’s Land theme park near Milton Keynes intends to more than triple in size with plans for a new visitor attraction called Eco-Park.

The new park will be located adjacent to the existing Gulliver’s Land and will be based on four themed areas.

Evolution of the Planet will feature an educational Dino Safari Tour and a 4D moving theatrecalled the Carousel of Evolution, which tracks the development of the planet from the Big Bang to present day.

The Energy Zone will be centred around a mature oak tree with a wooden rollercoaster and futuristic electric cars.

The Water Area will feature a sand beach and an artificial lake where visitors will be able to travel to the bottom of the ocean on a 3D simulation drive. The zone will also boast a waterpark.

The fourth area, The Land, will be set around a lage open common and will offer visitors the opportunity to pick food from the fields before preparing and eating it.

A spokesperson for Gulliver’s said the new Eco-Park will aim to build on the principle that families are increasingly looking to combine traditional entertainment with the desire for children to learn.

Construction work began on 7 Apri and all major earthworks on the park will take place by September 2005 including the addition of the lakes, water features and a beach.

Phase two will be complete by autumn 2006, when the lakes will be filled with water.

Gulliver’s Eco Park is due to open at Easter 2007.
