About The Role
The SEA LIFE Duty Manager-Education works under the direction of the Operations Manager to develop, coordinate, maintain and train SEA LIFE educational programs, materials, interpretation, tours, talks, training, and other related activities in collaboration with SEA LIFE Education Team Members.

Objectives
Supports the site its goal of delivering unique, interactive, memorable and educational experiences to all of our guests
Works closely with the DM’s, reporting into the Operations Manager to maintain and exceed KPI targets and daily goals for the site
Works at a level that is equal to or surpasses the guidelines set in the company minimum standards document for education
Ensure the sourcing, upkeep, inventory and organization of all educational interpretive supplies, bio-facts and collateral, both digital displays and physical materials
Ensure the maintenance and organization of education-associated records and protocols such as evaluations, training material, coupons, AZA educational standards, etc.
Communicate any overall developments and/or changes in education programs, related content and materials to appropriate SEA LIFE team members
Focus on and deliver upon all operational goals, specifically education, within the attraction
Ensure the highest possible standards of guest service, educational presentation, technical operation and Health & Safety requirements are adhered to at all times

Responsibilities
• Works a flexible schedule consisting of both administrative and duty management shifts to meet the needs of the business
• Creates, coordinates, implements and evaluates education and interpretive programs; including onsite classes, tours, programs, event-specific talks & tours, off-site classes and assemblies, etc.
• Assists in the management of other programs; including schools, groups, birthdays, overnights, and scout programs as well as dives and on site snorkels
• Works closely with the Ops Manager and Marketing Team to ensure creativity, consistent quality and correct branding is used in all programming and educational materials
• Trains, coaches, and motivates Education team to ensure consistent quality in program delivery
• Collaborates and communicates with the Education team to improve quality of current programs as well as identifies and develops new offerings and potential internal and external Edu. partnerships
• Develops and implements procedures and controls to ensure that education programs are in line with SEA LIFE’s mission and goals
• Maintains current knowledge of education philosophies and instructional learning methods to develop and enhance staff competencies
• Motivates and provides feedback to all front line staff on their standards of Guest Service. Acts as a mentor and coaches on areas for development
• Develops and implements continuous educational training for all Operations Team Members
• Conducts literature research, create and update text, and suggests layout for educational information, including exhibit graphics, newsletters, teacher guides and other informational materials as requested
• Assists with special events and other activities as required; substitutes for and assist with program presentation as necessary
• Coaches and motivates staff to provide best possible guest experience, to maximize sales opportunities and to ensure admission and commercial spend targets are achieved
• Demonstrates strong service approach; leading by example throughout the Attraction to maximize up-sells, product excellence, event delivery, etc
• Adopts an enthusiastic, assertive and passionate approach to guest service and demonstrates the MEG values at every opportunity

About You
- Background, Experience & Qualifications:
• Experience in a supervisory operations role preferred
• Experience in Education; traditional or non-traditional educational environments
• Experience in dealing with guests in difficult situations
• Experience of maintaining the highest level of service in high-pressure situations
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
• Excellent communication and motivational skills
• Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and multi-task as necessary

About The Role
