ICON Training on TES awards shortlist
POSTED 19 Dec 2016 . BY Deven Pamben
Gary Denton said "2016 has been a year of change, challenge and triumph" for ICON
Sport and leisure industry training provider ICON Training has been shortlisted in two categories at the annual Times Education Supplement (TES) Further Education (FE) Awards 2017.

The company has been shortlisted in the Training Provider of the Year and Apprenticeship Programme of the Year categories.

This is the first time that ICON has entered the awards.

ICON won the Apprenticeship Provider of the Year Award at the ukactive/CIMSPA Active Training Awards in November.

Gary Denton, ICON Training managing director, said: “2016 has been a year of change, challenge and triumph for us. We’ve been busy implementing changes to the way in which we work with our partners and learners, as part of our ongoing vision for a brighter and better future for our sector. We are absolutely delighted to be recognised not only by our industry peers, but also by the wider further education sector.

“We’ve not entered the TES FE Awards previously, and are overwhelmed to be recognised in this way, and amongst such great company as the other finalists.”

Now in its sixth year, the awards are open to anyone working in the UK FE sector, including colleges, work-based learning providers, adult and community learning providers, offenders’ learning establishments and specialist institutes.

Apprenticeships and Skills Minister Robert Halfon will attend the awards ceremony at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London on Friday 24 February 2017.
