David Lloyd bolsters class offering with exclusive Sufferfest tie-up
POSTED 12 May 2015 . BY Jak Phillips
The Sufferfest features officially licensed footage from the world's biggest races
David Lloyd Leisure (DLL) has continued its investment in quality class-based fitness through an exclusive partnership The Sufferfest video-based indoor cycling programme.

Having recently unveiled Les Mills’ new immersive fitness class The Trip at DLL Raynes Park and expanded Orangetheory Fitness classes beyond its London sites, the latest tie-up with the popular cycling experience signals DLL’s continued commitment to group fitness.

A high intensity interval training programme (HIIT) that transforms the indoor cycling experience, The Sufferfest has just launched at David Lloyd Southampton and will roll out to selected clubs across the DLL estate over the coming months. Endorsed by the UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale), the world governing body for cycling, the Sufferfest programme will launch in club studios and gym Wattbike zones.

With a passionate fan base spanning more than 70 countries, The Sufferfest has been developed by world-class cycling coaches and is driven by synchronised soundtracks, 17 creative storylines and officially licensed footage from the world's biggest races, including the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia, the UCI World Championships and Paris-Roubaix.

The videos feature on-screen instructions, enabling instructors to engage more with participants and provide individual coaching. The classes can also be run virtually without an instructor, allowing members to utilise the programme even during non-scheduled class times.

“David Lloyd Leisure recognises that cycling is seeing tremendous growth in popularity both as a sport and as a way of staying active, which is why we are investing significantly in innovative solutions to keep our classes fresh and challenging with the aim of helping our members achieve their health and fitness goals – whether it’s a personal best on the track or getting into shape,” said DLL group health and fitness manager Michelle Dand.

“Every video features bespoke cycling workouts aimed at achieving great results, on screen instructions and incredible footage from the world’s best races, providing a perfect blend of motivation, guidance and entertainment for riders of all abilities.”
