SMP Playgrounds, the leading designer, manufacturer and installer of outdoor play equipment, has just launched its latest innovation - Zingo.
The Zingo range of play equipment is an all-new 'ground up' product aimed at the 2-7 year old age group. Its development follows an in-depth study by the company and leading child psychologist Dr Amanda Gummer, into how children play with structural forms as well as their interaction with their peers.
A multi-level play system which includes - amongst other challenges - steps, a tightrope walk, grab rope, scramble net, platforms, sloped climbing wall, slide and interactive play panels, its most striking feature is the teardrop shaped Play Bubble.
This is designed to stimulate the child's senses and imagination using various sounds, movements and actions, the intended message being: What are you going to do with this? Sit on it? Climb through it? Shake it? Kick it? Spin it? Wobble it? Bounce on it? Listen to it [it rattles]? It's up to you...
The noise and rhythm that can be created by playing with the bubbles are aimed at developing a child’s ability to express themselves in an environment where noise is not restricted by adults. In turn the creation of and understating of musical and sound patterns can help to develop both mathematical and linguistic skills.
Children playing on Zingo are encouraged to use many different physical skills, from the gross motor skills needed in climbing and running to the more finite movements required in the interaction with play panels.
The platforms are set at different heights in a move to encourage a child to take the appropriate action at each stage and exercise decision-making skills about taking risks.
Zingo is available in a variety of formats, ranging from the Zingo Du climbing structure which features 12 different play themes, through to single Bubbles which can either spin or bounce or are just fixed securely and don't move.
The system is supplied as standard in a Blueberry colour way but SMP plans on introducing a range of colour options in the future.

Small Footprint, Big Significance: Studio City Water Park |
|
Long known for its fancy casinos, Macau realized within the past decade that it must
diversify its tourism scene to attract new crowds. With the ambition of becoming the
leisure hub of China’s 72-million strong Greater Bay Area, the city began adding shows,
attractions, and family-friendly hotels. But the offering that truly stands out with fun
for everyone is Studio City Water Park – Macau’s first stand-alone water park, with all
the water slides and aquatic play structures supplied by WhiteWater. |

How surf simulators are transforming the experience economy |
|
The experience economy, driven by evolving consumer trends, is poised for continued growth
in the coming years. Millennials have been at the forefront of this shift, favouring
memorable experiences over material possessions. This preference has extended to other
generations as well, indicating a broader adoption of experience-focused spending habits
in the attractions sector. |
