Markus Beyr, managing director of Kraftwerk, thought outside the box when developing the multimedia exhibits for the German National Park, Kellerwald Edersee, to ensure they would interest audiences across the board.
"My intention was to create the unusual," said Beyr, who believes most exhibits are too ordinary to excite the visitor, and so spoke with scientists about the best way of engaging audiences. "We transformed things we found in the forest and our daily life into weird, interactive media exhibits, interweaved with a straight message, to cover the demand of the National Park's scientists," he said.
"The main intention is not to give [visitors] hundreds of messages to learn, but to focus on a small number of key messages that are easy to keep."
The landscape is shown from a bird's eye view, and visitors have a joystick they can use to zoom in, fly above the landscape and explore the region. A giant digital wristwatch is a time machine, where visitors can turn the knob to experience different periods and see what happened in the national park at that time.

Small Footprint, Big Significance: Studio City Water Park |
|
Long known for its fancy casinos, Macau realized within the past decade that it must
diversify its tourism scene to attract new crowds. With the ambition of becoming the
leisure hub of China’s 72-million strong Greater Bay Area, the city began adding shows,
attractions, and family-friendly hotels. But the offering that truly stands out with fun
for everyone is Studio City Water Park – Macau’s first stand-alone water park, with all
the water slides and aquatic play structures supplied by WhiteWater. |

The experience economy, driven by evolving consumer trends, is poised for continued growth
in the coming years. Millennials have been at the forefront of this shift, favouring
memorable experiences over material possessions. This preference has extended to other
