With the goal of expanding into the fast-growing South Korean theme park market, Accesso Technology Group has partnered with local consulting, deal structuring and brokering firm Vision Works Global.
The Seoul-based company has worked on a range of location-based entertainment projects in South Korea, and Accesso said that making use of Vision Works’ local knowledge and industry expertise would enable it to “make a considerable impact across the region”.
Accesso CEO Tom Burnet said the three-year partnership would particularly focus on mobile-centric technologies, and that the time was right to enter the South Korean market. “The theme park and attractions industry in South Korea has abundant opportunity for growth and expansion, and has also reached a level of maturity where operators are placing a greater emphasis on the guest experience and revenue optimisation,” he said.
Burnet cited the fact that top theme parks in the country were enjoying attendance increases of 10 per cent, while industry investment was attracting visitors from South East Asia and Mainland China.
Jin Wook Choi, CEO of Vision Works Global, said the monetisation of queue lines would be “revolutionary” for its clients’ bottom-line, as he observed a trend for companies “taking painstaking efforts during the planning and design phase to make sure they accommodate secondary entrances for front-of-the-line access”.
