Alpamare to operate £18m water park in Scarborough, UK

An £18m (US$30.6m, €22m) water park in the UK seaside town of Scarborough
has been given the green light. Developer Benchmark Properties has had
proposals approved by the local council, and says the attraction could be open
by Easter 2016.

Green light for fairytale-themed accommodation at Alton Towers

The UK’s Alton Towers Resort has been given planning approval to build new
themed accommodation on site. Based around fairytales, development of The
Enchanted Village will start later this year, with opening scheduled for spring
2015.

Herzog & de Meuron to design new, expanded Vancouver Art Gallery

Vancouver's new art gallery is to be designed by Swiss architects Herzog & de
Meuron, with conceptual designs for the 27,871sq m (300,000sq ft) building –
more than double the size of the current facility – to be unveiled in early 2015.
