The Muhammad Ali Centre in Louisville, Kentucky, US, has launched a US$10m fundraising campaign.
The centre, in Ali’s hometown, is attempting to raise money to complete its permanent Visitor Experience, to create the Muhammad Ali Archives and Research Centre and to expand its event space.
The existing Visitor Experience will have its fourth-floor exhibits completed, which focus on “finding personal greatness within”. The exhibits were not installed when the museum first opened in 2005 in order to save money.
Two outdoor spaces will be built to increase its event space. One will be a patio where food and drink can be served and the other will be a rooftop area.
The centre’s audio visual equipment will also be updated.
