The Leaning Tower of Pisa is to re-open to visitors after a 12-year, £17m restoration project reduced its tilt by 45 centimetres writes
The Independent.
Tourists will be able to climb the mediaeval belfry's 293 steps at night between May and August at a cost of 15EUR (£9), for a view of Pisa and the Campo dei Miracoli, or Field of Miracles, below.
The 800-year old tower closed in 1990 amid fears it could collapse but the international team of architects and engineers that worked on the restoration claim it will last for at least another 300 years.
