Sol Meliá’s first quarter results

Spanish hotel group Sol Meliá has announced a first quarter net profit increase of 40.2 per cent to 21.8m euro (£14.8m, US$27.9m) from 15.5m euro (£10.6m, US$19.9m) in 2005.

The company’s revenues also rose to 273.5m euro (£186.3m, US$350.6m) – a 4.3 per cent increase. Details: www.solmelia.com
