Royal-themed attraction opens at Peppa Pig World
POSTED 17 May 2018 . BY Helen Patenall
Grampy Rabbit’s Sailing Club features individual boats twisting and turning along a Pirate Island-themed lazy river
Paultons Park in Hampshire, UK, has opened a new zone at its Peppa Pig World attraction.

Central to the new expansion is the 10m-high Queen’s Castle, where guests reach the top of a tower to climb onboard The Queen’s Flying Coach Ride – a monorail carrying colourful, family-sized carriages offering a bird’s-eye view of the four-acre zone, accompanied by commentary from Peppa and 'the Queen'.

Grampy Rabbit’s Sailing Club features individual boats twisting and turning along a Pirate Island-themed lazy river meandering around its base, while The Queen’s Kitchen housed within the castle offers a new dining option.

The extension introduces new characters, sights and scenes to Peppa Pig World, including Gerald Giraffe, Mr Bull, Peppa’s friends on Pirate Island, Grandpa Pig and 'the Queen'.

Stephen Lorton, commercial director at Paultons Park, said: “Peppa Pig World has continued to grow in popularity since opening in 2011 and the additional two new rides will continue to add to its success for many years to come.

"Paultons Park’s significant investment behind the expansion has created increased capacity, a new eatery, as well as the two new rides that offer panoramic views of this popular family destination. Both rides are suitable for young children of all ages accompanied by a parent, providing fun for all the family.”

The expansion was masterplanned by RMA Themed Attractions – designers of Peppa Pig World – in consultation with Entertainment One (licensors of Peppa Pig), with Grampy Rabbit’s Sailing Club and The Queen’s Flying Coach being manufactured and supplied by Mack Rides and Metallbau Emmeln, respectively.

Katie Rollings, SVP UK Licensing at Entertainment One, added: “Peppa Pig World is a must-see destination for fans and offers a delightful opportunity for families to step inside the magical, colourful world of Peppa Pig. The two new themed rides perfectly complement the existing attraction and are a wonderful addition. Fans will also be pleased to see new characters who were introduced to the hit TV series after the attraction originally opened.”
Peppa Pig World is aimed at families with children aged up to six years old.

In 2016, Paultons Park, which attracts more than one million guests each year, made its largest single investment to date with the launch of a Jurassic-themed attraction called Lost Kingdom, boosting footfall to record-breaking levels during its opening year.
