Real Madrid Club de Fútbol, one of the world's richest and most successful football clubs, has unveiled plans to open a theme park close to its Valdebebas training facility in the Spanish capital.
The club's president, Florentino Perez, said plans are at a very early stage but revealed that any park would have to be large enough to attract around 3 million visitors a year.
Careful estimates would place the construction cost of any such park at around €150m (£131m, US$218m) – €100m (£88m, US$145m) less than the club spent on new players during 2009.
