The Rezidor Hotel Group is to open a Radisson Blu Hotel at East Midlands Airport in Leicestershire, UK. The 216-room new build property is scheduled to open its doors in early 2012.
The project will be the company's fifth airport hotel in Britain, after the Radisson Blu and Park Inn hotels in Manchester, London Stansted, London Heathrow and Edinburgh.
The Radisson Blu Hotel, East Midlands Airport will be located 800m (0.5 mile) away from the main terminal and in addition to offering 208 rooms and 8 suites will provide a restaurant, a bar/lounge, and a coffee shop.
Leisure facilities will consist of a fitness centre with a gym and indoor pool and the property will also feature 750sq m (8,072sq ft) of conference and event space.
East Midlands Airport is among the 10 largest airports in the UK - handling nearly 6 million passengers annually - and acts as a hub for several low fare airlines including BMIbaby and Ryanair.
