A new white-knuckle roller coaster has opened at Pleasurewood Hills theme park near Lowestoft in Suffolk, UK.
Wipeout stands over 116ft (35m) tall and is 900ft (274m) long. It has a capacity of 760 passengers per hour and reaches around 50mph.
Wipeout is part of Pleasurewood Hills’ redevelopment programme, launched by French company Compagnie des Alpes when it took over the park two years ago.
Yves Delhommeau, general manager of the park, said: “We’ve invested more than £3m (US$6m, 4.4m euro) improving the facilities and developing the new maritime theme.
Wipeout is the first substantial new ride we’ve added and it is part of an ambitious long-term development plan to bring in some new rides and attractions.”
