Cartoon sensation Peppa Pig will be the star of Leolandia’s latest attraction when the Italian theme park reopens for the season on 28 March.

The 2,500sq m (27,000sq ft) addition, Peppa Pig’s World, is an interactive and immersive visitor experience aimed at young children and their families.

“Peppa Pig’s World is a thematic area with many special effects that reproduce scenes from the cartoon,” said a park spokesperson. “Leolandia’s designers and engineering team worked closely with eOne [IP owners Entertainment One] to realise the project.”

A variety of themed experiences in Peppa Pig’s World include Peppa’s family home, Daddy Pig's car, Peppa and George’s playground and a meet and greet and photo opportunity with Peppa and George.

Peppa Pig – devised by Astley Baker Davies – is one of the UK’s top-selling pre-school IPs. The cartoon is popular in Italy, broadcast on the Rai YoYo channel, as well as in 180 other territories around the world.

The first Peppa Pig World opened at Paultons Park in Hampshire, UK, in 2011.
