Sport Wales has introduced a new initiative to make training and educational sessions more affordable for those involved in the country's sports sector.

Launching in January 2020, The Communications Learning and Insights Programme (CLIP) will provide regular access to education and training opportunities.

The programme is a joint approach from the Sport Wales communications and insight teams and will offer training and support focussed on areas such as evidencing impact, using data, social media and use of technology in marketing.

CLIP will be subsidised by Sport Wales and sessions will be available in person or online, with practical classes taking place in different locations across the country to improve access.

"At the heart of the Sport Wales's strategy is our commitment to help support a successful sport sector, led by collective insight and learning. This programme is a key aspect of delivering on that commitment," said Paul Batcup, digital content manager for Sport Wales.

"Technology in particular is changing the way people are engaging with sport and exercise and we have to make our offer relevant and exciting.

"While we know that evidence is only impactful if it is effectively communicated, which is why the insight and communications themes have been developed in parallel. We want those that take part in the programme to understand how best to improve the way their work as a result of their data.

"Our approach of learning together, delivering together and celebrating together with our partners, is central to way in which this programme has been designed, and we are excited to continue to build on the huge success of the original CLIP pilot."
