Locomotion: the National Railway Museum in Shildon is expanding its traditional Model Mania event on 11–12 August.

Events officer Sara Fawcett said: “The event will be on a larger scale to the previous two years. Model Mania has a very strong base in showcasing the model makers’ craft and in particular model trains, planes and Mechanno. We are delighted that all these exhibits look set to return again this year.

“We are looking towards expanding the displays by exhibiting items with a feminine interest, such as dolls houses.”
