Minor Hotel Group is continuing its expansion in Southeast Asia with the development of Anantara Ubud Bali Resort, scheduled to open in 2019.
A joint venture with Indonesia-based PT Wijaya Karya Realty, the US$41.1m (€37.5, £29.3m) new-build project will include 70 suites and pool villas as well as 30 Anantara-branded residences.
The resort will also have an Anantara spa, though details are not yet available. Minor already operates two Anantara resorts in Bali – Anantara Seminyak and Anantara Uluwatu – as well as an Anantara Vacation Club property. It also has two further properties in development under its Avani and Oaks brands.
“We are thrilled to be announcing our third Anantara resort in Bali,” said Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotel Group. “We are confident in the longevity of the island as a hugely popular tourism destination, and the addition of Anantara Ubud will perfectly complement our existing resorts.”
