Liseberg CEO Andreas Andersen to lead IAAPA in 2018

First involved in the attractions sector in 2001, Andersen took up his current role in 2011
IAAPA’s board of directors have named Liseberg Group CEO and president Andreas Veilstrup Andersen as its second vice chair for 2016, first vice chair in 2017 and then chair in 2018.

First becoming involved in the attractions sector in 2001, Andersen took up his current role in 2011. Prior to that he spent four years as executive director of IAAPA's regional office in Europe, where he was responsible for membership sales and service, programme development, government affairs and managing the Euro Attractions Show (EAS). Between 2002-2008, Andersen worked at Denmark’s Tivoli amusement park, holding the role of executive assistant/company lawyer until 2004, and then vice president and chief operating officer until 2008.

Outside of the attractions industry, Andersen has served as deputy manager for the Danish Agency for Governmental Management (Ministry of Finance) and principal, case officer for The Mortgage Bank of Denmark (Ministry of Finance).

"Andreas' industry knowledge is deep, and he has strong relationships with a number of key leaders worldwide. These attributes, combined with his strong and enthusiastic commitment to the global attractions industry, will make him an excellent leader for IAAPA," said Roland Mack, managing partner of Europa-Park in Rust, Germany, and chair of the IAAPA Governance Committee, the member-led group responsible for nominating the second vice chairman to the board of directors.
