The National Housing Trust of Jamaica has awarded International Theme Park Services (ITPS) the contract to provide consultation on operations, retail, maintenance and safety services for Emancipation Park.
Emancipation Park - a $100m, two hectare site opened in August 2002 in the middle of Jamaica's capital, Kingston - is a tribute to the country's victory over slavery and boasts a 500-metre jogging track, water fountains, a bandstand and a symbolic Emancipation sculpture.
ITPS vice president, Shawn Haas, said: Jamaica is exciting, providing wonderful vacation opportunities for the many tourists who visit each year. We have been given the job of developing a world-class operation and maintenance program for Emancipation Park, a program the government hopes can be realised at other facilities throughout the country.
