Explore-At-Bristol has received a £1.4m grant from the Wellcome Trust towards a new permanent exhibition.

The grant will fund the replacement of the science centre's Your Amazing Brain exhibition. The new exhibition, called All About Us, will take visitors on a journey through the human body looking at how our brain and body adapt to the world they are in.

According to a spokesperson, the Your Amazing Brain exhibition, which has been in place since the centre launched in 2000, will be phased out and replaced by the new exhibit.

The first phase of the 500sq m (5,400sq ft) All About Us exhibition is due to open to the public in spring 2009, with the final phase of work to be completed in time for Explore-At-Bristol’s 10th anniversary in June 2010.

Goéry Delacôte, chief executive of Explore-At-Bristol said: “We pride ourselves on offering our visitors the very best and this grant will allow us to create the most exciting exhibition Explore has had to date.

“The grant will fund one of our most ambitious refurbishments of an exhibition space in the eight years since opening.”
