Kids in Museums has unveiled this year's Family Friendly Museum Award, which is being run in conjunction with the Sunday Telegraph newspaper.

Anyone can nominate the UK museum that they feel is the most welcoming to families until 2 December 2011, with a long list to be published in February 2012.

Kids in Museums director Dea Birkett said: "The winner could be a one-room gallery with a few objects or a mighty museum stuffed with national treasures."

Earlier this year, it was announced that Mansfield Museum had held off competition from five other UK attractions to be crowned winner of the Family Friendly Museum Award.
