Droit House, the visitor centre for Turner Contemporary, officially reopened after a six-month revamp that included the instalment of a new display.

The centre, in Margate, Kent, was relaunched by Sandy Nairne, director of the National Portrait Gallery, in a reopening ceremony on 26 May.

Droit House’s new identity – ‘a way to see’ – is reflected in the new display, which offers guests the opportunity to see the design development of Turner Contemporary, was developed with designers Johnson Naylor.

Since opening in June 2002, Droit House has attracted 23,000 visitors.

Construction of Turner Contemporary is expected to start early in 2005 and the gallery is scheduled to open to the public in 2007.
